Not really. ;) The blog has been a bit neglected lately, though, and I did go to the circus Thursday evening! Not only did I have a great time, I also learned a new mathematical principle. Apparently, the size of the slide is directly proportional to the size of the grin:

Little Miss thoroughly enjoyed the performances and the cotton candy. :D (candy floss, if you must!) Her excitement reminded me of being a little girl myself, including my love of all things sparkly. I only carried one lens and clapped and cheered with the rest of the crowd, but you know I couldn’t resist taking a few shots of some of the fabulous acts! (There was also juggling, dancing, special guest appearances by Minnie & Mickey Mouse and more.)

She had a great voice.

beind-the-scenes magic

on-stage magic!

They were funny. I only just managed to cover my camera when they squirted us with water!

There are no shots of the rope-skipping or blinfolded wheel-walking because I was too busy holding my breath!

Curtain call. Europe’s largest travelling show Circus Vegas (American Circus) is in Portrush through Wednesday 4 August if you’d like to see for yourself. They’ve lots of great human performers and pony rides for the kiddos during intermission. Wave a tiny American flag for me!

Movin’ On Up

June 24, 2010

Hey all! I’m up to my ears in boxes getting ready to move house this weekend, so I may be a little slow to respond to messages this week. Your patience is appreciated. :) I have made a PDF with wedding package info available for download on the Pricing Page; additional portrait pricing info is there as well. If you have an urgent query, please phone and leave a voicemail message. I’ll return your call ASAP.

Back soon!
Jenny

Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there. My hubby got some chill out time and his favourite takeaway, and the kids and I had a nice Skype chat with my dad in Seattle this evening. :)

This is our lovely baby session giveaway winner! Little Miss B is two months old, tiny and sweet. I photographed her two older sisters last spring, so it was really nice to see how much they’ve grown and chat with their mum & dad again. I look forward to seeing the whole family again when the littlest miss is a bit bigger. :)

Ok folks, I think it’s about time for a special offer around here. I’m so tired of looking at packing boxes and need to see some cute new faces. :)

Now onto the giveaway part. My little nephew Sage was born the last day of 2009. He’s an adorable little guy and I’m thrilled to be his auntie, but since he lives with his parents in America I still haven’t got to hold him yet. This is a sad state of affairs, and Aunt Jenny really wants to play with a new baby! (Oh dear, did I just refer to myself in the 3rd person? Terribly sorry!) Up for grabs is a free baby photo session including 8×10 print. If you have a baby 0-3 months old or are due in the next 3 months comment on this post or email me with baby’s age or due date! Last date to enter is 31 May, 2010. A winner will be chosen at random the first week of June. Good luck! :)

I had the honour of photographing Christine and Peter’s wedding yesterday. Here’s a quick sneak peek until the full gallery is ready in a couple of weeks. Enjoy!

and this last one just might be my favourite ;)

Congratulations, Peter & Christine, and have a wonderful time in Florida!

As promised, here are a few more shots from my recent LHP session. Harry is 6 years old and was diagnosed with diabetes last year. It has been a lot to take in – saying no to sweets, adjusting to blood sugar testing and twice daily injections, and learning how Pete the Pancreas works (or doesn’t). His family have been there supporting him and holding his hand during his jabs, which he was proud to tell me no longer make him cry. Harry’s favourite thing to do is play on at the playground, so it was an excellent place to meet for our session.

If you know a little hero who would like to feel like a star with his or her own photo session (and interview), check out the Littlest Heroes Project. Their volunteers are great. As always, you can also get in touch with me if you have any questions. :)

It was Earth Day Thursday, so I have to mention freegle (freecycle in the US). Members give away useable items rather than chucking them in a landfill. It’s a great way to clear some space in your home or find secondhand items you need. Last week I was happy to send some baby items off to their new home. :)

In March, overtherainbowphotography.com turned 1 year old. My baby girl also turned 4. Shhh, don’t tell her I said baby! She’s feeling very grown up these days (and looking it too). I guess it’s time to buy some more hairclips since she’s insisting on growing her bangs/fringe out, but here are a few shots celebrating another great year:

and not to leave the little guy out:

I had my first Littlest Heroes Project shoot this afternoon.  We met at a local playground for a fun, relaxed lifestyle portrait session. This is my new friend H.  He’s a brave, fun-loving boy, and I was very pleased to meet him and his sweet family.  Just one quick shot today – I’ll share more after I deliver the images to the family next week. :)
