An engagement session (pre-wedding photo shoot) is a great chance to get to know your photographer and become more comfortable in front of the camera before your big day. It’s also an opportunity to get images to use in guestbooks, save the date cards, a display at the wedding, or just to have some nice relaxed photos of you and your partner.

I offer a complimentary engagement shoot with any wedding package booking. If you book a couple’s shoot with me and then subsequently book a wedding package (within 60 days), I’ll even credit the session fee toward your package price. :) Of course, you don’t have to be engaged to schedule a couple’s photo session! It can be a fun way to celebrate an anniversary or just say ‘I love you.’

I have a bad case of spring fever. These slightly longer, sunny days remind me that spring is just around the corner. I am itching to put away the big coat! I guess I can be patient – after all, I do love the absolutely gorgeous late winter light: natural winter light portrait

You may have noticed the new ‘Weddings’ tab in the menu up there. I’m very excited about it and will post more soon!

Hey all!

I’ve just partnered with a great charity organisation called the Littlest Heroes Project. Their aim is to honour children with serious illnesses and life-altering disabilities and spread awareness of their courage while we work toward treatments and cures. Participating families are connected with a professional photographer in their area who helps capture the beauty and hope in their everday lives.

I am thrilled to be a participating photographer, but now I need your help spreading the word! Do you know a little hero who deserves his/her own special portrait session? Direct them to http://littlestheroesproject.org. Email this blog post to friends and family, so they can spread the word as well. Print the images found below this post and hang them up (with permission, of course!) in GP’s and specialists’ offices, church bulletin boards, childcare centres, and anywhere else they might be spotted by qualifying families. Contact me if you’d like hard copies, and I’ll be happy to post some out to you.

Thank you for your support! :)

Meet my cat, Lily.

She adopted my family as her own just before christmas. She has a really quiet meow and a funny, high-pitched purr. I haven’t had a pet since my dog passed away when I was 15, (Fish don’t count.) and I love having a critter around the house again! I set myself a challenge recently to follow her around outside and get at least one nice shot of her. Here are a few of my favourites.

She’s quite a little beauty, isn’t she? :)

Glossy. Gorgeous. Custom.

I’ve been searching for mini albums that don’t have to be shipped from overseas, and these are just perfect. No more cutting and gluing for me, and my clients can enjoy a beautiful polished product made in the UK. I was so excited when I opened the parcel I was tempted to run outside shouting, ‘The new phonebooks are here!’ Ha. :)

These little 3×3 beauties have space for up to 10 images from your session inside, plus personalised front and back covers. Each comes with a customised sleeve, perfect for keeping the album safely closed while being carried in your handback or back pocket.

Accordion mini albums make a fantastic gift, and since they’re packaged as a set of 3 for £75 you get to keep one (or more ;) ) for yourself as well! Extra albums (same design) may be added on for £20 each when ordered at the same time.

Book your session today to be one of the first to enjoy these beautiful new albums.

The Big 3-0

January 29, 2010

Hey all! I have really enjoyed my extended holiday break this year, but now it’s time to get fully back into the swing of things, including keeping up with the blog. :) Next week I have a momentous birthday coming up. That’s right, I’m turning 30! Yikes! ;) I’m really looking forward to seeing what surprises are in store for me this year. This may just be the year I learn to walk in heels properly and venture into shooting weddings – um, but not at the same time! Time for the birthday special. (drumroll, please)

The Big 3-0 Offer:
Book a portrait session by 28 February 2010 and pay just £30 session fee! (That’s half-price)
Plus, take £30 off the price of any framed print or canvas gallery wrap 12×16 or larger!
Restrictions: Session includes up to 5 people. (You may add additional subjects for £10 each.)
Session must take place by 2 May, 2010.

Now is a great time to celebrate your Valentine’s engagement with a couple’s shoot or get those family portraits done for Mother’s Day! Just contact today to discuss your requirements and book your session.

Cheers,
Jenny

Happy holidays! See you in 2010 :)

Jenny

I don’t want to spoil the surprise, but I have to share a couple images from this session. Part of my job is setting others at ease, so that I can better capture their personalities on film. Being rather shy by nature I sometimes find this intimidating, but Trisha and her family were great sports and laughed at my silly (ok, lame!) jokes and goofing around. :) Thanks so much for making my job fun! I hope you’re as pleased with your portraits as I am.

I love the way mum just radiates contentment while all the kids are interacting around her in this one:

And this next shot is one of my favourite “outtake” family portraits. It shows the personalities and relationships so much better than a standard ‘everyone face the camera and smile’ shot (although we got some of those as well!)

Happy Holidays + Updates

December 2, 2009

Brrr, it is getting cold! And dark! I’m starting to wind down for the year. You may have noticed that the blog is now on the homepage. I really like the way it looks and feels. Apologies for the broken blog links! The search feature should make it easy to find what you’re looking for. :) Next on the list is completing shiny new galleries.

I have notified the Help-Portrait 2009 Winner, Trisha K, and scheduled her family portrait session. I’m looking forward to it! I’m also excited that it will be my final session of the year. Hooray for christmas break!

Watch this space for one final end of the year offer…
